Past & Future Fishing Workshops & Presentations

Next Wednesday, February 24th, Rodney will host a Surf and Ocean Fishing workshop at Satellite Beach’s Pelican Park Clubhouse. This entertaining and informative event is designed to help share local fishing knowledge with anglers wishing to improve their catches, or enhance their overall fishing experience.

This year’s workshop dates started with a small class at Jensen Beach’s River Palm Fish Camp and Cottages. However, it turned out to be a special day, with visits from Pompano Rich Vidulich, who shared a bag of his productive pompano rigs and jigs, and Mark Nichols, founder/inventor of DOA Fishing Lures.

Since that day in early January, Rodney has met with and shared his knowledge with anglers at several other iconic locations up and down the Indian River Lagoon Coast. Because of a couple of articles written by Ed Killer and published in the Treasure Coast Palm Newspapers, Rodney’s workshop at the Ft. Pierce Manatee Observation and Education Center was attended by thirty anglers (over capacity).

We’d not only like to express our gratitude to the people who have helped secure the space we needed to conduct these classes, but we’d also like to suggest that you take the time to visit them. Locations like Melbourne Beach’s Barrier Island Center, South Daytona Beach’s Sunglow Pier, Ft. Pierce’s Manatee Observation and Education Center and Palm Coast’s Captain’s BBQ & B & T at Bing’s Landing are places that help maintain Florida’s uniqueness.

After next week’s Surf and Ocean Fishing workshop in Satellite Beach, there are a couple more scheduled to take place before the end of March. There are dates at New Smyrna Beach’s JB Fish Camp & Restaurant, Orlando’s Fish on Fire and a special event supporting Ladies Let’s Go Fishing at the Stuart Angler Bait & Tackle.

Rodney also has a FREE two-hour Indian River Lagoon Coastal Boating Logistics Seminar in addition to several power presentations and special appearances scheduled for early spring. If you are interested in attending, or would like more information, please send Rodney an email, irlcoast@gmail.com.

A portion of the proceeds from these workshops benefits the Anglers for Conservation and their Hook Kids on Fishing programs.
